When starting this unit I looked at different types of editing of videos, from the camera angles to scene cutting. I also researched into different films genres and explained what would be common in those films. I looked at the music what would be used in its genre and what actors and actresses would star in the genre films. When I created the video I have come across a few technical problems, one of the problems I came across was the college computers could not convert the necessary files which I had to then convert at a home PC, after this problem I came across a rendering problem which occurred on the college computers, where the after effects program crashed and said not enough ram, the video files that I used had be compressed to a small size film on my home PC. I tried to attempt the rendering on several PC, but each computer could not take it and crashed. I then attempted this on my home PC, which also crashed, so I used Windows Movie Maker to create the final video. This video would have looked better if I didn't have software problems.

This video contains short clips from terminator, tropic thunder, crank 1, black hawk down, wanted and gamer. I have cut out actions shots, from someone firing a gun to getting shot. I also chopping out explosions which occur in the films. Some of the clips are in order but, some of them are just put in a random sequence. I have also added a crash and someone falling out of the sky, which also comes under the category of action in film.

A film transition is a technique where there is a change from one scene to another using a certain type of technique like cut, dissolve, fade and wipe. Alot of films will include selective transitions, usually to change a tone or a mood.

When creating pace, there is usually a slow build up to a big event, which can maybe seen in a running scene or even a chase scene. Pace is usually created with music or slow camera movement where the camera gets closer to either the character or object, this could either be a jolty movement or just a plain smooth movement.

A basic guideline in film making is the 180° rule where two characters, or objects, what are in the same scene should always have the same left/right relationship to each other. So If the camera passes over the imaginary axis connecting the two subjects, this is called crossing the line and the new shot, from the opposite side, is known as a reverse angle.

Some films use a storytelling technique, where the would me some sort of narration telling the story of the film whilst the events are taking place. A good example of this is in the film bedtime stories as Adam Sandlers is narrating a story whislt he is actually acting out his story in a different scene.
